From an economic point of view, the province of Barcelona is one of the most dynamic and developed in Spain. Located in the centre of Catalonia, between the sea and the Pyrenees, it expands along the coast from the county of Garraf to Maresme, to the north until Osona and Berguedà and to the west to Anoia and Alt Penedès.
Just a few kilometres from the city of Barcelona, one of the most attractive in the European Mediterranean area, are located more than three hundred municipalities with a broad diversity of tourist opportunities, from mountain activities to well-equipped beaches, as well as the modern and commercial cities that offer a distinguished cultural heritage.
The visitor can choose between traditional tourism, culture, adventure sports, spas, discovering wines and cellars, daytime and nightlife activities, as well as an excellent and internationally recognised gastronomy. All of these can be adapted for groups and complement the proposals of the Barcelona Province Convention Bureau, allowing participants to enjoy many leisure opportunities after the meeting.

The geographical location of Barcelona has turned the city into a meeting point for businesses and cultures. This has created a constant flow of communication by land, sea and air.
The province of Barcelona has a well-structured network of communications, with the principal airport (El Prat de Llobregat) located at only 12 km from the capital of the province and with the proximity of the airports at Girona-Costa Brava and Reus.
The Port of Barcelona, one of the most important in Europe, connects Barcelona daily with all the Mediterranean ports.
The network of communications is completed by an appropriate infrastructure of national, regional and local motorways, highways and railways that facilitate communications both with other provinces and between sea and inland.
